Afro x Beats x Berlin – Afrobeats and Afro House in Germany's Capital

Afrobeats is a form of global club music rooted in various regional African genres. Freak de l’Afrique and Red Bull present a primer to the music, Berlin’s dynamic Afrobeats and Afro house community and its diverse influences.

Afrobeats, das ist globale Clubmusik mit ursprünglichen vielen regionalen, afrikanischen Genres. Freak de l’Afrique und Red Bull stellen die Musik, die dynamische Berliner Afrobeats- und Afro-House-Community und ihre vielen Einflüsse vor. 

Besides Freak de l’Afrique, the film features Afro house crew Rise, a fixture on Berlin’s house and techno scene, and Megaloh, a Berlin-based rapper of Nigerian descent, as well as Each One Teach One (EOTO), a network devoted to Black empowerment. On top of that, we’ll hear from UK-based Afrobeats ambassadors Maleek Berry, Eugy and Kwamz & Flava.

Neben Freak de l’Afrique widmet sich der Film auch der Afro-House-Crew RISE, die fest in Berlins House- und Technoszene verwurzelt ist. Megaloh, Berliner Rapper mit nigerianischer Herkunft, ist ebenso Teil der Geschichte wie das Netzwerk Each One Teach One (EOTO), das auf vielen Ebenen für Black Empowerment einsteht. Darüber hinaus kommen in UK lebende Afrobeats-Botschafter wie Maleek Berry, Eugy oder Kwamz & Flava zu Wort.
